EMPOWERING HUMANITY TO SHARE THEIR PURPOSE

We are empowering humanity to courageously share, develop, and explore their purpose. To serve. To learn. To lead with purpose.
All our welcome. We support programming for all ages (elementary school to adult). Join our community and let us know if you would like to join our journey towards purpose.
WE CONNECT PEOPLE TO THEIR PURPOSE
Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

Make the Difference
NEW GLOBAL PUBLICATION LAUNCHES WITH MISSION TO CONNECT HUMANITY TO PURPOSE
By Anna Marie, Contributing Editor
In an era marked by disconnection and search for meaning, a groundbreaking global publication emerges today with a singular mission: helping people discover and live their unique purpose. *Make The Difference*, launched by Voice Up Publishing Incorporated, represents a bold departure from traditional media—focusing not on celebrity or sensation, but on the extraordinary stories of ordinary people whose lives illuminate pathways to purpose.
"We're not just launching a publication. We're creating a movement," explains Art Fuller, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Voice Up Publishing. "Every person has a unique purpose that, when discovered and embraced, transforms not only their life but ripples outward to change communities. *Make The Difference* exists to capture those stories and inspire others to begin their own purpose journey."
The quarterly publication debuts with contributors from over 25 cities throughout the world, representing diverse backgrounds, faiths, and life experiences. What unites them is a commitment to authentic storytelling that reveals how purpose emerges through both extraordinary and seemingly ordinary moments.
## BEYOND INSPIRATION TO APPLICATION
Unlike publications that offer temporary inspiration, *Make The Difference* focuses on actionable wisdom readers can immediately apply to their lives. Each carefully crafted section guides readers through progressive stages of purpose discovery and implementation.
"We start with 'That First Step'—because that's where most people get stuck," explains Dana Clark-Jackson, Executive in Residence. "Then we move through personal stories of purpose discovery, joy exploration, decision points, historical connections, community innovation, mental health perspectives, and collaborative opportunities. It's a comprehensive journey readers can engage with wherever they are in their own purpose exploration."
Early readers have noted the publication's distinctive approach. "It feels less like reading a magazine and more like having transformative conversations with wise friends," says Jeff Cheeks, a new member of Voice Up who participated in pre-release focus groups. "I found myself repeatedly stopping to reflect on how the stories connected to making better decisions."
## SHOWCASING STUDENT SOCIAL IMPACT WORLDWIDE
A cornerstone of the publication's mission is amplifying the social impact projects of college students around the globe. Each issue will feature an extensive section highlighting how students are applying their purpose through tangible community initiatives and purpose based internships.
"We've been collaborating with Voice Up over the past year to pilot this approach with universities," explains Raymond Williams. "The results have been extraordinary. When students align academic projects with personal purpose, their impact multiplies exponentially."
The premiere issue spotlights fifteen student-led initiatives (lifelines) from universities including the University of Alabama, Temple University, University of California, Berkeley, North Carolina A & T, George Washington University and the University of Pittsburgh. Projects range from innovative mental health support systems for rural communities to sustainable urban agriculture programs addressing food insecurity.
"Working with Voice Up helped me transform what could have been just another class assignment into my life's work," says Amara Washington, a Howard University junior whose micro-lending platform for women entrepreneurs is featured in the inaugural issue. "The process of connecting my academic work to my deeper purpose changed everything about how I approached the project."
Voice Up's semester-long purpose discovery program has now partnered with students attending over 100 universities globally, creating an ongoing pipeline of impactful student projects to be featured in future issues. The publication plans to launch a digital platform later this year where readers can directly support featured student initiatives.
## VISUAL STORYTELLING THROUGH QUARTERLY COVER COMPETITION
Recognizing that purpose revelation occurs through multiple mediums, *Make The Difference* has announced an open quarterly competition for visual artists to create cover art for upcoming issues.
"Visual storytelling can communicate purpose in ways words sometimes cannot," explains Art Fuller. "Our cover art competition invites artists worldwide to submit work that captures the essence of connecting to purpose."
The competition for the Summer 2025 issue opens next month, with the theme "Purpose in Unexpected Places."
Artists of all backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to submit, with special consideration given to work that transcends cultural boundaries while remaining deeply rooted in authentic purpose exploration. Selected artists receive not only prominent cover placement but also an in-depth feature within the publication and honorarium.
## CREATIVE ARTS: A NEW PLATFORM FOR PURPOSE-DRIVEN EXPRESSION
Beyond the cover competition, *Make The Difference* dedicates a substantial section to emerging visual and musical artists whose work centers on purpose discovery and upliftment.
"The Creative Pulse" section spans multiple art forms—from painting and sculpture to music composition and spoken word poetry—all united by their power to inspire purpose exploration. The section features both established and emerging artists, with particular emphasis on those whose work creates spaces for collective reflection on meaning and purpose.
"Art has always been a catalyst for purpose discovery," notes Sara Guthrie, Creative Arts Editor. "We're creating a platform where artists committed to uplifting humanity through their work can reach audiences hungry for that very experience."
The premiere issue includes an exclusive interview with a special award-winning musician about the intersection of purpose and creative expression, alongside features on seven emerging artists whose work spans continents and disciplines.
## CROSS-GENERATIONAL CREATIVE EXPRESSION
In a particularly innovative approach, *Make The Difference* intentionally juxtaposes creative works from artists at various life stages—from elementary school students to seasoned professionals—around shared themes of purpose and meaning.
"Voices Across Time" presents creative works grouped by theme rather than creator age or experience level. The premiere issue's theme, "Belonging," features poetry, visual art, and short essays from contributors ranging from an 8-year-old in Singapore to an 86-year-old in Argentina.
"There's something powerful about experiencing how an elementary student and a lifelong professional artist express similar themes of purpose from their distinct vantage points," says Fuller. "It reminds us that purpose exploration isn't limited by age or experience—it's a fundamentally human endeavor."
The publication partners with schools globally to solicit student submissions, ensuring young voices are prominently featured alongside established creators. A panel of educators and artists from diverse backgrounds selects works for inclusion, with an emphasis on authentic expression rather than technical perfection.
## FROM PAGE TO STAGE: GLOBAL CONFERENCE ANNOUNCED
Perhaps most ambitious is the publication's commitment to bringing purpose conversations from page to personal interaction. Today's launch includes announcement of the inaugural **Make the Difference Conference- Sharing Global Stories of Purpose**, to be hosted at the Oklahoma Wildcats Academy in summer 2026.
The three-day event will feature selected contributors from the publication's first year, interactive purpose discovery workshops, and opportunities for attendees to record their own purpose stories for potential publication.
"The conference represents the living extension of what we're creating in print and digital," explains Williams. "When people share purpose stories face-to-face, something magical happens. Connections form that transcend typical networking events because they're grounded in what matters most—the 'why' behind our lives."
The conference will include a special exhibition of visual art featured in the publication's first year, live performances by musical artists from "The Creative Pulse" section, and a showcase of student social impact projects that attendees can engage with directly.
Conference registration opens Fall 2025, with early supporters of the publication receiving priority access. A scholarship program ensures diverse participation, with 30% of attendee spots reserved for community leaders from underserved regions globally.
## OPEN CALL FOR STORYTELLERS
While the premiere issue features established writers alongside emerging voices, the publication has issued an open call for contributors to upcoming editions. Unlike traditional submission processes that prioritize publishing credentials, *Make The Difference* seeks authentic storytellers whose experiences illuminate aspects of purpose, regardless of their writing background.
"We're looking for truth-tellers, not necessarily polished writers," says Fuller. "Our editorial team works closely with contributors to shape powerful narratives while preserving each unique voice. What matters most is the authenticity of the purpose journey being shared."
The publication seeks quarterly submissions across all sections, with special interest in stories that bridge cultural divides, reveal unexpected purpose discoveries, or demonstrate community transformation through purpose-aligned action.
## FOUNDATION IN TIMELESS PRINCIPLES
*Make The Difference* is built on five core principles drawn from Voice Up Publishing's foundational values: collaboration, humility, precision, patience, and empathy. These principles inform not only the content selection but the entire production process.
"Each edition emerges through deep collaboration," explains Fuller. "Our editorial meetings involve contributors from previous issues, readers, and subject matter experts—ensuring multiple perspectives shape our approach. This humility in recognizing no single viewpoint captures the full purpose landscape is essential to our work."
This collaborative approach extends to the publication's business model, which includes profit-sharing with contributors and community reinvestment initiatives.
## A PUBLICATION "FOR THE PEOPLE"
Unlike media targeting narrow demographic segments, *Make The Difference* intentionally spans generational, cultural, and socioeconomic divides. Early subscription data shows remarkable diversity in readership, with strong representation across age groups from 18 to 75+.
"We believe purpose isn't just for the privileged or the young or the spiritual seeker," says Fuller. "It's the birthright of every human being. Our publication reflects that fundamental belief in who we feature, how we present their stories, and who we're working to reach."
As the premiere issue reaches readers across 32 countries, the team behind *Make The Difference* reflects on the journey ahead. "This first issue represents thousands of hours of conversation, curation, and refinement," says Fuller. "But it's just the beginning. The real impact will emerge as readers discover their own purpose stories and begin to make their difference in the world."
